Major Exploration Scavenger Hunt
Faculty and Staff of the History Department-
- Mixture of both female and male professors
- Almost all are published
- Each have their own specialty (ie Native American, Colonialism, Gender Studies, etc)
I think I would want to speak with Professor Johnathan Decoster. He is currently an assistant teaching professor who focuses on Native American and Colonial History. Johnathan has several publications in established sources. Additionally, he is the most recent graduated member in the department.
- Secondary Education Certificate- If you meet the requirements you are able to teach history in a middle or highschool in the state of maine. This is helpful because often museum educators are often expected to have previous experience teaching.
- The history students help lead museum exhibits in the Library. For example previously, students research personal accounts and impacts the war had on soldiers and other individuals. Using this information they later wrote war letters that were based upon the accounts they researched.
- There are plenty of research options. For example, students can assist department individuals in research as a way to gain experience. Eventually, undergraduates can use these resources to participate in the honors program. Additionally, the research projects can be used to apply to several different scholarships.
- Through many foundations there are large collections of artifacts and documents made available to students.
