Today Adrian and I went to a local car museum since we were both sick of shopping and being in my dorm. The trip was a bit spur of the moment–neither of us knew that this existed in Maine, let alone only 20 mins away from my campus. Overall, the trip was a lot of fun and I felt like I learned a lot about cars. Also Adrian is a huge vintage car enthusiast, especially ford which they happened to have an exhibit about. It was nice to be able to see all these incredibly rare cars all in one showroom and it was nice to see Adrian getting excited about cars he had only ever had the chance to read about. At the end of our trip–I was able to talk to one of the main workers, Louise, who talked with us for a while about the facts of the car and the owner of the museum. Our conversation gave me good insight on the process of purchasing, sourcing, and archiving artifacts as large as cars! Plus, he gave me several offers for a summer internship which I might consider if I stay in Maine for summer classes.
