How has it been like as a history student navigating through a college that is geared so much towards medical and science major
- Came in as a marine bio major but switched 3 times
- Liberal arts is small
- Not hard
Do you ever feel disconnected from friends or peers since you belong to such a minority group on campus? For example, not finding a study buddy or having similar coursework to peers.
- Yes, hard to find people
- History majors have a stereotype
- Stem majors
What is a piece of advice you would give your freshman self?
“ Understand that you aren’t going to know what you want to do. Find avenues understand that it isn’t all going to pan out”
Switching Majors? Why?
- Marine bio → psych → animal behavior
- Loved history and the ocean
- Chemistry isn’t strong suit
- Tried psych bc he like talking to people
- Liked writing and reading
What is a piece of advice that you were given and wish you didn’t listen to
Have fun, we are here to learn→ social life, don’t be bogged down in books. Have fun, dont take yourself too self

Goal is to curation/ plan exhibits

Goal accomplished→ finding place, locking down history major and comfortable

Projects can be isolating and lonely→ listen to musics and just focus in
What’s one of the hardest points you’ve hit throughout being a student?
Course work because of chemistry almost flunked
What inspired you to begin your archival project?
- Dad and brother always love history going to historical sights as a kid
- Loved history, reading diaries
- Can read cursive
- Thrifting and antiquing
- Photography
