Club Volleyball (Extracurricular)

Club Volleyball (Extracurricular)

The past couple of weeks I’ve been trying out for the UNE club volleyball team. At first I was unsure about tryouting for many reasons. Firstly—I forgot my volleyball bag that contained all of my gear that hadn’t been used in months. Thankfully, when I went back home I was able to grab it. My favorite tattered and flattened knee pads, a UNE sweat towel I received at the accepted students hockey game, my shoes, and most importantly my ankle…

Procrastination Night 11/27 (Academic)

Procrastination Night 11/27 (Academic)

Tonight I attended the “Night Against Procrastination” event that SASC held in the library. While this probably isn’t too good to say but my friends and I were only interested in going because of the snacks and prizes they advertised on their posters. We stopped by right after dinner, grabbed a table in the middle of the library and then went to the freebie table. Here we got a bunch of stickers, notebooks, stationary, and even some Emergen-C (which was considered…

Car Museum Trip 11/10

Car Museum Trip 11/10

Today Adrian and I went to a local car museum since we were both sick of shopping and being in my dorm. The trip was a bit spur of the moment–neither of us knew that this existed in Maine, let alone only 20 mins away from my campus. Overall, the trip was a lot of fun and I felt like I learned a lot about cars. Also Adrian is a huge vintage car enthusiast, especially ford which they happened to…

Homecoming Football Game 10/01 (Extracurricular Activity)

Homecoming Football Game 10/01 (Extracurricular Activity)

Today I went to a football game for homecoming! My friend group and I woke up early, got breakfast, got ready and then headed over to the Forum to tailgate. It was fun seeing all the groups, parents, students who go all out for it. We talked to a bunch of people and then headed over to the game with some friends that we met up with. Thankfully, the team ended up winning 37-21!

09/01/23 Nor’easter Fest (Other Activity)

09/01/23 Nor’easter Fest (Other Activity)

Tonight my friends and I went to Noreaster Fest and honestly the event was more fun than I was expecting. The school rented out giant neon swings, different food carts, and vendors. Even though the line was super long–we all got custom matching trucker hats that the airbrush artist made right in front of us. Additionally, I got to meet C-DOT (I believe that’s how you spell it?) and although I personally did not know who he was whatsoever–I can…

Interview with Ben Fitzgerald- Zine Project

Interview with Ben Fitzgerald- Zine Project

How has it been like as a history student navigating through a college that is geared so much towards medical and science major Do you ever feel disconnected from friends or peers since you belong to such a minority group on campus? For example, not finding a study buddy or having similar coursework to peers. What is a piece of advice you would give your freshman self? “ Understand that you aren’t going to know what you want to do….

Book Project

Book Project

For this project I was required to combine the pages and covers of two books. The books I chose gave information about how to make models, such as model houses, boats, and trains–and the other book was an older edition of a gardening book. Using these materials and the subjects of the books I chose, I decided on making a house using the pages from each book as parts of the structure and roof.

Interior/Exterior Project

Interior/Exterior Project

This project was completed over the course of four weeks. For the first few weeks, we were required to make abstract shapes using cardboard and hot glue. In the following weeks–we were then required to enhance the relationship between the interior and exterior of the shape. I decided to make a pinata for this reason, as they have both a strong presence within the interior and exterior.

Playdoh Project

Playdoh Project

This project was an introductory exercise to familiarize myself with the materials and processes of clay. Playdoh was used since it is cost-effective & low stakes! I chose to make a whimsical frog by combining primary colors and adorning him with beads and rhinestones.
