Internship Podcast

Over the course of the past semester, I have been interning at UNE’s Archives and Special Collection department under Cathleen Miller. This podcast assignment, we were tasked to use both narration and actual evidence to tell our experience with our internship. In the podcast, I describe some of the projects that I worked on during my time in the archives. This includes finding aids, reorganization of photos, and social media. Internship Evidence #7

Internship Evidence #7

The past couple of weeks my internship tasks have been slightly more tailored. I’ve begun working on a mind map for my future exhibit. This includes thinking about sources I would like to use, the story I want to tell, materials needed, and a rough to-do list. Typically, I start this process by looking at the photo and seeing if there is any marks on the image with dates. If not, then I try to look at items such as clothing, shoes, cars, hairstyles, etc that could give a clue as to where the photo was.

Internship Evidence #4

Internship Evidence #4

The past couple weeks at my internship have been fun! I have spent a lot of time working on my main project which is creating finding aids to help individuals who want to learn about Westbrook. This requires both a biographical note (information about the individual/organization the item belongs to) and a scope note (tells what kind of material can be found within the series). Also, I have been working on refolding and organizing photographs. For this, I have to…

Production Studio Experience

Production Studio Experience

Today instead of our traditional class, we had the opportunity to visit the Production Studio. First we talked with Janelle about what the expectations/set up would be for the Board of Trustees Interview and then we got right into interviewing. Zak interviewed me first and I thought the experience went really well! To start, we learned how to “mic-up” and then got seated at the interview set. I had made notes of how I wanted to answer each question but…
