Involvement Fair

Involvement Fair

Throughout my visit to the involvement fair that was held on campus this past Friday I learned several new things regarding my peers, the community, and opportunities available. One of the first clubs I stopped at was the Garden Club, which primarily holds events on campus regarding plants and getting people involved in gardening. At first, I was hesitant to stop here, as I was concerned with the time commitment of the club—however I knew that I wanted the ability to get outdoors more.  The club leaders explained to me that there would be little meetings occurring outside of the actual club event.

This was a common thing amongst many of the clubs. Before the involvement fair, I was concerned with my availability and the level of commitment. These and other factors such as signing up made the process seem very daunting at first, however after getting the opportunity to speak directly with the club leaders I realized that they are very flexible. Additionally, since the club leaders are students themselves they understand how busy a student’ s schedule can be, especially during the first year of college. Overall, everyone seemed to be eager to welcome potential club members with open arms.
